Viral Video: Passenger on Walahar Train Attempts to Alight Before Complete Stop at Cikarang Station, KAI Responds
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - VP of Corporate Secretary at KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, stated that the company will immediately conduct an evaluation following an incident where a passenger forced their way off the train while it was still moving and had not fully stopped at Cikarang Station, Bekasi, West Java.
She explained that the train was the Walahar line, travelling from Purwakarta to Cikarang.
“We regret that this incident occurred, and we will conduct a further evaluation,” she said via WhatsApp message on Friday (15/5/2026).
“Of course, this is not permitted because it is very dangerous for the safety of passengers,” she added.
In a video uploaded to the Instagram account @liputancikarang, a man can be seen opening the train door while the train has not fully stopped.
The man’s actions were then followed by other passengers who exited the carriage without waiting for the train to stop completely.
“The moment a figure, who is estimated to have lived during World War II, tries to board a train in the modern era, appears to have angered residents,” wrote the caption on the Instagram account @liputancikarang.
