Viral Video of Youths Brandishing Sharp Weapons for Street Brawl in Bogor Prompts Police Call for Increased Neighbourhood Watch

A video showing a group of youths brandishing sharp weapons while entering a residential area in Sukaraja, Bogor, has gone viral on social media. In response, the police have increased patrols and are urging residents to intensify neighbourhood watch activities to prevent such incidents from recurring.

“The incident occurred on the border with the Bogor City area. Last night, we remained on standby for patrols until 4:00 am in Cilebut, and there have been no further reports regarding brawls,” said the Chief of Sukaraja Sector Police, AKP Ade Rahmat, when asked for confirmation regarding the viral video on Sunday (30/08/2026).

Ade stated that the Sukaraja Sector Police have conducted joint patrols across several hotspots prone to brawls, theft, and other crimes. He suspected that the perpetrators may be intentionally waiting for patrol officers to pass by.

“Following the directions of the Bogor District Police Chief, joint patrols by the Sub-district Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopincam) have been conducted to anticipate risks of brawls, gangsterism, C3 (theft, robbery, and vehicle theft), and other crimes,” said Ade.

“Last night, I was on standby until 04:00 WIB in East Cilebut and Babakan Sirna, on the border with Bojonggede, alongside the Forkopincam,” he added.

Ade noted that his office has coordinated with sub-district officials and Village Heads to encourage the community to revive the Integrated Community Security System (Siskamting) and night patrols. He believes that community policing is an effective way to prevent street brawls.

“We are inviting the community to intensify Siskamling and night patrols, while simultaneously increasing resident awareness, especially regarding their own neighbourhoods. The Forkopincam plans to hold a meeting soon to discuss the issue of brawls and how we should anticipate them,” said Ade.
