Viral Video of Student Answer on Whether 'MBG Should Continue': Majalengka Regent Sets the Record Straight

A video of Majalengka Regent Eman Suherman conducting a surprise inspection of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at a school in Kasokandel District has gone viral on social media.

In the circulating video, Eman was seen asking the students whether they agreed if the MBG programme were to be disbanded. The students were said to have answered in unison that they “agreed”.

However, the video had in fact been edited, altering the context of the conversation. In the full video shared on Eman’s own social media, the students actually said they disagreed with the programme being dissolved.

Eman expressed regret over the spread of the video on social media. According to him, the edited video risked creating a false perception among the public.

“I deeply regret that my video that went viral on social media was shared in an incomplete state and even edited in a misleading way. The facts are not like that. The full video is still available on my social media. In that video, the children actually said they agreed that the MBG programme should continue. This means the programme is indeed very beneficial,” Eman said on Sunday (6/9/2026).

Eman then issued a clarification to set the record straight on the video’s context. He affirmed his support for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, an initiative of President Prabowo Subianto.

“This MBG is an excellent programme, a noble initiative from the President. I fully support the existence of MBG,” he asserted.
