Viral Video of Nanik S. Deyang's Inspection Draws Netizen Scrutiny Over BGN Operations
The leadership transition at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has captured public attention, not only through policy changes but also through the working style of its new leader. Nanik S. Deyang, appointed to replace Dadan Hindayana as Head of the BGN, has become a trending topic on social media following the circulation of a video documenting her recent unannounced inspection.
The video, uploaded to her personal TikTok account, shows Nanik conducting a direct review of the Cipayung Munjul-02 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit in East Jakarta. During the visit, she inspected various operational aspects of the kitchen, which serves as a critical component in the implementation of the Free Nutritised Meal (MBG) programme.
From her findings, Nanik identified several areas that failed to meet required standards, ranging from kitchen cleanliness and building conditions to the management of facilities used for daily operations.
In the video, Nanik appeared firm when providing instructions to the kitchen managers. One particular point of contention was the use of drinking water, which she noted did not comply with regulations. “It is not allowed; no matter the reason, this must be branded bottled water. Do not try to deceive me. This is state money specifically allocated for this purpose, so why use a filter? It must be purchased and must be of the correct brand,” Nanik stated firmly.
Furthermore, the condition of the kitchen floor drew specific concern. She noted that inadequate facilities could pose health and occupational safety risks. “Look at this, this is a source of disease. I am suspending the use of that area because it is far too slippery; replace the floor with a matte finish. This epoxy-like coating must also be replaced; I am suspending it,” she added.
Nanik also highlighted the use of plastic cooking utensils. She emphasised that all kitchen equipment should utilise safer, standardised materials. “There must be no plastic cooking equipment; everything must be made of stainless steel,” she asserted.
