Viral Video of Machete-Wielding Man Causing Chaos at Bogor Herbal Drink Stall, Police Investigate

A video of a man causing a commotion at a herbal medicine stall in the Kamurang area of Citeureup District, Bogor, West Java, has been circulating on social media. The man was seen carrying a sharp weapon.

In the video, viewed on Tuesday (14 July 2026), the man was seen wearing a red jacket and a hat. He could be heard shouting abuse at others present at the scene.

The man was also seen waving the sharp weapon he was carrying. He was also said to have taken a mobile phone and damaged the glass display case of the shop next to the herbal medicine stall.

When contacted for confirmation, Citeureup Police Chief Commissioner Eddy Santosa said the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday (13 July). Police are currently investigating the incident.

“As of now, it is still under investigation,” he said.

Eddy explained that his team had initially received information about the incident. Investigators then immediately went to the scene.

Police questioned a number of witnesses at the location. In addition, they examined the CCTV footage that had been circulating.

“When we arrived and met the parties at the location to ask about the allegation, it was confirmed that there was a suspicion that someone had, without authorisation, carried, controlled or possessed a sharp weapon in a public place outside of their line of work,” he concluded.
