Viral: Two Motorcycle Thieves in Depok Threaten Resident with Firearm

A video showing two men suspected of attempting to steal a motorcycle in Tapos, Depok, West Java, has gone viral on social media. The footage shows the perpetrators being caught in the act by a resident, after which they fled while brandishing a firearm. The incident occurred on Saturday (25/7) in Sukatani, Tapos. According to reports, the suspects had already damaged the ignition of the motorcycle. When a witness approached them, the perpetrators panicked and escaped on their own motorcycle, pointing a gun at the witness to deter pursuit. Cimanggis Police Chief Commissioner Jupriono confirmed the event, stating that the suspects managed to damage the magnetic lock of a Honda Beat motorcycle before being discovered. He added that the witness retreated out of fear after the suspects brandished the firearm. Police are currently conducting a crime scene investigation and have urged the victim to file an official report to aid the investigation.
