Viral Tens of Thousands of MBG Motorcycles for SPPG: Head of BGN Provides Explanation
The existence of tens of thousands of operational trail motorcycles for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, bearing the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) logo, has gone viral on social media and triggered various speculations among the public.
In response, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana explained that the procurement of these motorcycles is part of the 2025 budget planning and is intended to support the operations of the MBG Programme, particularly for Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG).
“The procurement of these motorcycles is indeed included in the 2025 budget. Their function is to support the operations of SPPG Heads,” Dadan stated in his official remarks in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4).
Nevertheless, Dadan assured that the motorcycles have not yet been distributed to the relevant parties. According to him, the available vehicles must still undergo administrative processes as State-Owned Goods (BMN) before they can be used.
“The motorcycles have not been distributed. Once everything is complete, they will first be recorded as BMN before distribution,” he explained.
Furthermore, the phased realisation of the motorcycle procurement will begin in December 2025.
Meanwhile, regarding information circulating on social media about the procurement reaching 70,000 units, Dadan emphasised that such news is untrue or a hoax.
“The information about 70,000 units is not true. The total realisation of electric motorcycles is 21,801 units out of 25,000 ordered for 2025,” Dadan stated.
Dadan hopes that the public will not be easily influenced by unverified information and can understand that the procurement is part of the government’s efforts to ensure the smooth implementation of the MBG Programme across Indonesia.
