Viral SPPG in East Cakung Near Rubbish Piles, BGN Rejects Operational Permit

A video featuring the location of a Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) kitchen in East Cakung, East Jakarta, has gone viral on social media. The reason is that the MBG kitchen is situated near piles of rubbish. In the viral video, the MBG kitchen can be seen on the roadside. However, in front of it, there are numerous piles and carts full of rubbish. The rubbish in front of the MBG kitchen’s fence appears to cover the side of the road. One of the rubbish piles is even almost as high as the gate of the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) building. The presence of the MBG kitchen has drawn attention due to its very close proximity to the rubbish piles. The cleanliness of the food to be served has been questioned by the public. BGN Breaks Silence When confirmed by detikcom, Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, stated that they have revoked the operational permit from that SPPG. She emphasised that the MBG kitchen in East Cakung has not yet become operational. “The permit has been revoked. It hasn’t even been verified,” said Nanik when contacted on Monday (6/4/2026). Nanik said that the SPPG had indeed registered to become one of the MBG kitchens in East Jakarta. However, their registration has been rejected by BGN. “They just registered and it was already rejected,” Nanik explained.
