Viral Song 'MBG', Bahlil Gives Unexpected Response
Song ‘MGB Mas Bahlil Ganteng’ has gone viral on social media, with netizens widely sharing content featuring the track on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahdalia commented on the viral song, with his response captured in a video uploaded by the President’s Special Envoy for Youth and Arts Development, Raffi Ahmad, showing the pair in a casual discussion.
Raffi noted Bahlil’s curiosity about the song’s creator, to which Bahlil responded: “If it’s that song, I’m genuinely curious [about the creator]. Adinda [Raffi], I’d like to request an invitation if the person is willing,” quoted on Saturday, 30 May 2026.
Bahlil further stated he wanted to discuss the song ‘MBG Mas Bahlil Ganteng’ over a meal with its creator. “I’m also curious. I’m currently on umrah, but every morning my child laughs at me,” he added.
Raffi mentioned his son, Rafathar, also listens to the song, and they conducted a video call with him to discuss it.
When asked about his feelings, Bahlil said he was unaware of the song ‘MBG Mas Bahlil Ganteng’, adding it was natural from public creativity. “I appreciate people’s creativity, especially the youth. But one suggestion: in this social media democracy era, it’s important to use it responsibly. For example, avoid SARA issues,” he said.
He stressed that SARA-related content harms national solidarity and emphasised supporting creativity within appropriate boundaries. “As a public official, the risk of going viral is part of the job,” he concluded.
