Viral Sighting of a Suspected Pocong in Lamongan Stirs Residents

According to DetikJatim on Friday 22 May 2026, a circulating video shows a figure wrapped in white cloth standing in a poorly lit alley in a residential area. The footage is described as having been recorded by a local resident at night. The cameraman reportedly zooms in on the white-clad figure from a distance. The video is said to have been taken from one of the RTs in the Tumenggungan neighbourhood, Lamongan district. The local RT head, Huda, confirmed that discussions about the alleged pocong sighting are currently ongoing in the area, though he cannot yet verify the accuracy of the report. ‘Yes, there is viral talk that a pocong sighting is circulating in the village; whether it is true or not is still unknown,’ he said. One resident, Faisol, said he was shocked by the alleged sighting. Faisol stated that the video was taken from in front of his house on Friday early morning (22 May) around 02:00 local time. ‘I only learned of it this afternoon; I did not see it myself, it was indeed in front of my house,’ he added.
