A video of a shop being pelted with oil by residents on Jalan Dewi Sartika, Kramat Jati district, East Jakarta, has circulated on social media. The shop was targeted allegedly for selling tramadol, a controlled pharmaceutical substance.

In the video viewed on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, a motorcyclist stops in front of the shop before throwing oil in its direction. Two individuals can be seen conducting a transaction with the shop seller. After throwing the oil, the motorcyclist immediately accelerates away from the scene.

When approached for comment, AKP Fadoli, head of criminal investigation at Kramat Jati Police Station, stated that his team has begun investigating the allegation. The police have already visited the location.

“We checked the location last night together with the neighbourhood chief and block chief. The shop was closed and locked from the outside,” he said.

Fadoli stated that the police are searching for the shop owner before conducting a forced opening of the premises.

“The action taken by the shop owner involved forcibly opening the rolling door of the shop together with the neighbourhood chief and block chief. Inside the shop, everything was empty—only a display cabinet remained,” he concluded.
