Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyah, has responded to searches carried out by a joint police team at several locations from Wednesday (8/7/2026) through to Thursday (9/7/2026).

Among the locations searched were a cafe in Cipete and a private house in Sentul, both of which were said to be connected to him.

In a press conference, Febrie set out six points. First, work in the special crimes field continues as normal. He also assured that investigations, prosecutions and the execution of evidence remain carried out according to standard operating procedures (SOP).

“We assure you that all the activities and tasks that have been assigned to us and all our colleagues at Gedung Bundar who are conducting investigations, prosecutions, or field duties in executing items of evidence are still running, indeed still in accordance with SOP and running swiftly,” said Febrie at the Jampidsus Building of the Attorney General’s Office, Jakarta, on Friday (10/7/2026).

Second, Febrie said Gedung Bundar is currently focused on resolving a number of strategic cases related to the public interest and the government’s priority programmes, such as mining governance, alleged transfer pricing, and governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.

According to him, handling these cases forms part of the Attorney General’s Office’s commitment to eradicating corruption professionally, independently and accountably through the judicial process.

“These efforts are part of the institution’s commitment to a clean government with integrity and to providing a deterrent effect on perpetrators of corruption. For that reason, public support and trust are an important source of energy for us at Gedung Bundar so that progress in law enforcement can run effectively, independently and sustainably,” he said.

Third, he emphasised that Jampidsus at the Attorney General’s Office will continue to respect every act of law enforcement carried out by law enforcement agencies, in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

Fourth, Febrie also asked the public not to rush to draw conclusions based on information circulating on social media. He asked the public to respond to every piece of information based on the complete facts.

Fifth, Febrie assured that his other duties with the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force are also still running. He pledged to continue optimising state revenues through the collection of administrative fines from companies in breach.

“For companies that have not paid administrative fines as required by law, we have followed up through criminal instruments. That step is to ensure that obligations to the state are truly fulfilled for the greatest interest of the public,” he said.

Sixth, the Attorney General’s Office also supports the government’s strategic national priority programmes, including the Free Nutritious Meal programme, the Red and White Village and Neighbourhood Cooperatives (Kopdes Kelurahan Merah Putih), and other priority programmes.

Denies Connection to Cipete Business

Responding to questions about the searches carried out by the police and their connection to a business in the Cipete area, Febrie denied any link to himself or to the Jampidsus institution.

“We respect all law enforcement processes carried out by fellow law enforcement officials. Regarding those reports, we await the investigators’ process. Once again, I can explain that Jampidsus has no connection whatsoever to the business that has been reported in the media, such as in Cipete,” he said.

Response on Cash Found at Sentul House

Febrie also gave an explanation regarding the discovery of cash at his private residence in Sentul, which has drawn public attention. According to him, the money has a clear owner and relates to activities that can be accounted for. However, he declined to give a more detailed explanation, saying the matter could be conveyed through the applicable legal mechanism.

“To be clear, the money found at the house in Sentul has an owner, there is an activity, there are people involved in that activity who can be questioned, and there are buildings that can later be checked. But of course this will not be explained now; it will be explained through a proper legal process,” he said.

Febrie also emphasised that the house in Sentul is a Jampidsus house that has been owned for a long time, something that can be seen from its ownership records from the outset.

Mentions Alleged Sumatra Blackout

Febrie also responded to questions about an alleged police investigation linked to the blackout in Sumatra. However, he said he was not yet aware of any connection between that case and Jampidsus.

According to him, if the case concerns the procurement of coal for coal-fired power plants (PLTU), a thorough audit should first be carried out.

“Both the quantity, the needs, and the quality that enter the purchase transactions and the procurement process, so that we know whether there are unlawful acts there. So regarding the blackout, let us just wait; it would be better to ask the investigators,” he said.
