Viral: SDN in Leuwiliang, Bogor 'Surrounded' by Piles of Rubbish
A video circulating on social media shows piles of rubbish scattered in front of SDN 1 Leuwiliang, Bogor Regency, West Java. The sheer volume of rubbish has left the school seemingly besieged by waste.
In the video viewed on Tuesday (7/4/2026), the piles consist mainly of household waste wrapped in plastic bags. The accumulation is feared to disrupt the health of the students.
The rubbish is also thought to hinder students’ comfort during learning activities. The waste appears to cover the pavement area and encroaches on part of the main road.
When contacted for confirmation, Leuwiliang Sub-District Head WR Pelitawan stated that his office had followed up on the incident. He mentioned that the rubbish buildup occurred the previous week.
“Yes, that was last week; we have coordinated with the UPT DLH (Integrated Service Unit of the Environmental Agency),” said Pelitawan.
Trucks from the Bogor Regency Environmental Agency have been deployed to remove the rubbish. According to him, the situation has now been handled properly.
“Alhamdulillah, it has been handled (now),” he concluded.
