DEPOK, KOMPAS.com – A photo of a resident’s complaint regarding the parking fee at the TPU Kampung Serab area in Depok City, West Java, has gone viral on social media. In the post circulating via the Instagram account @depok24jam, a resident received a motorcycle parking ticket for a fee of Rp 5,000. The ticket also states that any loss or damage to the vehicle is the owner’s responsibility. Moreover, the cemetery has never imposed a parking fee when residents come to pay respects. In particular, there is no clear security guarantee for parked vehicles. When contacted, staff at the location said they do not provide tickets. “No, just pay directly,” said one of the staff members. Several visitors reported experiencing the same issue. Roni (38) said he did not receive a ticket when he came to pay respects. “No, they didn’t give one; yesterday there was, but not today,” said Roni. He mentioned that the usual parking fee requested is around Rp 5,000, but without a ticket. However, payments are often voluntary. Nevertheless, Roni said he would not mind if the parking fee were set higher, as long as it comes with responsibility from the management. Another visitor, Lukman (42), also said he did not receive a ticket when parking his vehicle. He said he usually pays Rp 2,000 to Rp 3,000 for parking when no ticket is given.
