Viral: Resident's Rice Cooker Package Swapped for Empty Cardboard Box in Depok, Police Probe Scene

A video showing a courier swapping a resident’s package containing a rice cooker in Sukatani, Tapos, Depok, West Java, has gone viral on social media. The suspect swapped the resident’s package with an empty cardboard box. From footage circulating online, the courier initially spotted a package left at the victim’s door. He approached to check the package and then returned to his motorcycle to fetch an empty cardboard box. He swapped the package and left with the rice cooker. The incident occurred on Thursday (5 March) at around 12:30 WIB in Sukatani, Tapos, Depok. The suspect delivered the package to the house while the residence was empty as the occupant was at work. After delivering, the suspect left and returned to the victim’s home soon after, riding a motorcycle with a sack containing packages. “The suspect entered the housing complex without the knowledge of witnesses or security, who were in the bathroom at the time,” Cimanggis Police Chief Jupriono said in a statement on Friday (6 March). At around 13:59 WIB, the suspect took the victim’s package and swapped it with an empty box that resembled the previous package. He then took the victim’s package and left the location. “When the victim checked the package at home, it was empty. CCTV footage confirmed that the package was swapped by someone resembling a courier,” he said. Police are currently inspecting the scene to investigate the case. The case is being handled by Cimanggis Police.
