The Pork Noodle Stall by the Rice Fields in Parangjoro Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, has been rejected by residents, becoming viral on social media. Residents even blocked access to the stall with soil.

According to detikjateng on Friday (17/4/2026), in a video circulating on social media, the access to the non-halal stall was seen blocked with a mound of soil. The mound of soil was located under a banner stating the residents’ rejection of the stall.

Currently, the mound of soil has been levelled, and vehicles can once again pass to the stall. However, the residents’ rejection banner remains.

The MMT banner installed at the end of the alley to the stall reads ‘LOCAL RESIDENTS REJECT NON-HALAL STALL’. The banner appears to feature an image resembling a pig’s head crossed out in red.

The manager of the Pork Noodle Stall by the Rice Fields, Jodi Sutanto, said the closure was carried out by unknown individuals on Thursday (16/4), around 09:00 WIB. At that time, the stall was still closed as it only opens at 12:00 WIB.

“Yesterday, when our staff were about to go out, they saw a truck dam that had just finished unloading the soil. When our people arrived, the truck had already left. As a result, the access road to our stall was blocked,” said Jodi when contacted by detikJateng on Friday (17/4/2026).

He said the road in front of his stall is a public road and the only access to the stall. He claimed not to know who placed the pile of soil in the middle of the road.

Village Head Denies Intentional Closure of Access with Soil

When contacted separately, Parangjoro Village Head Hardiman denied that the soil pile was deliberately placed to block access to the stall. This is because the soil pile was used by residents to raise the road.

“It wasn’t blocked; it just happened that the residents had a long-standing agenda to raise the road, to repair it because it was too low. The residents wanted to backfill and level it. It wasn’t left like that; the residents were going to level it too. That might be a misunderstanding by the stall owner,” said Hardiman.
