Viral, Resident Claims Chicken Allegedly Stolen by Victim of Mob Attack in Bali Worth Tens of Millions

A social media post on Threads has gone viral, shedding new light on the mob attack in Tabanan, Bali, by claiming the chicken the victim allegedly attempted to steal was not an ordinary bird. The user, @sarvitanovi, stated that the chicken was a fighting cock, with a single bird potentially valued between IDR 35 million and hundreds of millions of rupiah. The post also claimed the victim, identified as KD, was a repeat offender who had previously served a two-year prison sentence. The incident occurred in Banjar Dinas Juwuk Legi, Batunya Village, Baturiti District, on Friday, when KD was caught by residents who had long been troubled by thefts in the area. The mob subsequently beat KD to death and set his motorcycle on fire. The tragedy was compounded when the victim’s youngest daughter witnessed and wept over her father’s body.
