A child’s social media post has gone viral, claiming their mother allegedly did not receive treatment at the Emergency Department (IGD) of RSUD Dr H Abdul Moeloek (RSUDAM) in Bandar Lampung. The mother has since reportedly passed away.

Through a Threads account, the patient’s child recounted that their mother was taken to the RSUDAM emergency department as her health condition continued to deteriorate. However, according to the family’s account, emergency staff at the time said the patient’s condition did not yet meet the criteria for a medical emergency and therefore was not treated in the emergency department.

“Dear Abdul Moeloek Hospital, my mother whom you turned away from the emergency department, saying her condition was not an emergency, has now passed away,” the account holder wrote in the post, as reported by detikSumbagsel on Wednesday (5/8/2026).

The family then took the patient to another hospital for treatment. Based on the post, the patient was said to be in critical condition and required a transfusion of four bags of blood. The patient was also diagnosed with a stroke.

The family expressed disappointment, believing that the patient’s condition at the time already required emergency treatment. They also highlighted the attitude of medical staff, which they felt lacked empathy when providing explanations.

In response to the viral post, RSUDAM denied having refused the patient. The Deputy Director of Nursing, Services, and Medical Support at RSUDAM, Dr Yusmaidi, said the patient, identified as Zulaiha (52), was received and examined by emergency department staff.

“From the results of our investigation, it is not true that there was a refusal. All patients who come to Abdul Moeloek Hospital are always received by us. Mrs Zulaiha was also received and examined in the emergency department,” said Dr Yusmaidi.

Yusmaidi explained that the examination results showed the patient had a history of chronic illness. Nevertheless, the hospital stated it would still evaluate the services provided to the patient and her family.
