Viral Padel Employee in South Jakarta Kidnapped and Tortured, Four Suspects Arrested

An employee at a padel facility in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, identified by the initials AL, was kidnapped and assaulted after allegedly stealing items from his workplace. Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the kidnapping.

In a video circulating online, a person dressed in black, identified as AL, is seen kneeling before a woman who is his mother. The post narrated that AL had been kidnapped and tortured for two days.

South Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Head AKP Joko Adi stated that AL’s family initially reported the incident. The South Jakarta Police Resmob team then moved in and subsequently apprehended the suspects.

“There are four suspects, with the initials ASB, RRK, AH, and DW. These four suspects have been detained,” Joko told reporters at the South Jakarta Police headquarters on Friday (26/6/2026).

Joko confirmed that the reason AL was kidnapped by the four individuals was for stealing items from his workplace. He said the assailants were fellow padel employees.

“According to information, the person concerned is suspected of taking items from his workplace,” he explained. “They (the assailants) all work there,” he added.

Joko mentioned that AL had been working at the padel facility for two months. He stated that on Monday (22/6), AL was picked up from his home.

“The child, with the initials AL, was picked up from home on Monday, 22 June. He was then taken away and had not returned for two days,” he revealed.

This caused AL’s mother, M, to become worried. Consequently, on Wednesday (24/6), she came to the South Jakarta Police to file a police report.

“A series of investigations were then conducted until we were able to secure and subsequently name these four individuals as suspects,” he said.
