Viral Overflowing Parking in Front of Golkar Jakarta DPD Office, What is the Cause?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A video recording a row of cars parked in front of the Dewan Pimpinan Daerah (DPD) Golkar Jakarta office went viral on social media on Tuesday (12/5/2026). The video, uploaded by the Instagram account @ijoeel, captured the condition of Jalan Pegangsaan Barat, Menteng, Central Jakarta, filled with cars parked on both the left and right sides of the road shoulder. Two yellow ambulances bearing the Golkar Party logo were also seen parked on the road shoulder. In the video, a vehicle from the Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP) was observed passing through the location. However, the Satpol PP vehicle did not stop to check the road condition crowded with illegal car parking. Komandan Regu (Danru) Security of the DPD Golkar Jakarta Office, Slamet Mulyanto, who was met at the location, said the incident that went viral on social media occurred on Saturday afternoon (9/5/2026). At that time, an inauguration event for the DPD Golkar Jakarta officials was being held. “Indeed, because of our situation with many guests, we were allowed (to use) one lane (for parking),” said Slamet. According to Slamet, around 100 guests attended the inauguration event on Saturday. Slamet admitted that there were parties from outside the office who assisted with parking. It is suspected that external parties helped so that vehicles were parked on the right side road shoulder.
