JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A social media post went viral showing an official vehicle with a red plate numbered B 1174 TQH on the ferry at Merak Port. The photo was uploaded by the X account @amanterkendaly, whose owner claimed the black Toyota was being used for Eid travel and had cut the queue of vehicles. The vehicle appeared to be queuing with others, with its brake lights on, indicating it was about to exit the ferry. “My brother wants to make this official vehicle used for Eid travel viral because it cut our queue to exit the ferry,” read the caption on the post. “This happened at Merak Port, yes, and yes, we’ve reported it,” it continued. In response, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government denied that the official vehicle belonged to them. Head of the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) of DKI Jakarta, Faisal Syafruddin, stated that they had traced the vehicle recorded in the post. “Regarding the report, the vehicle in question does not belong to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, but to another institution. The policy on the use of official vehicles is the authority of each respective institution,” Faisal said on Thursday (26/3/2026). Meanwhile, the Inspector of DKI Jakarta Province, Dhany Sukma, said they would take firm action if any violations of official vehicle use by apparatus within the DKI Provincial Government environment were found during the Eid holiday period. He explained that supervision is carried out through summoning and clarification of related parties based on received reports, including tracing vehicle plate numbers by the internal team. The sanctions refer to DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 8 of 2024 on Civil Servant Discipline and Governor Regulation Number 27 of 2022 on Official Vehicle Management. Forms of sanctions can range from warnings to deductions in additional employee income (TPP). In addition, the provisions also refer to Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021 on Civil Servant Discipline and National Civil Service Agency Regulation Number 6 of 2022 as its implementing rules. As a preventive measure, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had previously conducted an audit of all regional devices to ensure official vehicles are garaged during the Eid holiday and are at the designated locations.
