A viral video recording shows a naked man rampaging in the Lenteng Agung area of South Jakarta. The man assaulted several motorcyclists passing along the road.

In the amateur video circulating on social media, the man can be seen striking an online motorcycle taxi driver with a wooden plank. The driver fell to the ground.

“Kill… kill,” the man shouted.

Even though the driver was already helpless, the perpetrator struck the victim again with the plank. The victim was reported to have lost consciousness as a result of the incident.

Besides the online motorcycle taxi driver, other motorcyclists also became targets. The perpetrator blocked the victims and then hit them with the plank until they fell onto the asphalt.

Several residents attempted to restrain the perpetrator. However, the man ran around in the middle of the road.

In the video recording, the person filming could not yet confirm whether the perpetrator was suspected of having a mental health disorder or was intoxicated.

The incident was said to have occurred on Tuesday evening (18/8) around Lenteng Agung Station.

“I don’t know if he’s crazy, stressed or drunk. The point is he hit every person who passed by,” said the person recording the video.

Secured by Police and Social Agency

When confirmed, Jagakarsa Police Chief Commissioner Nurma Dewi verified that the incident had taken place.

“Yes, that’s correct,” said Nurma when confirmed on Wednesday (19/8/2026).

Meanwhile, as reported by Antara News Agency, the Head of the South Jakarta Social Agency, Bernard Tambunan, said the perpetrator had been successfully detained in the early hours of the morning.

“He was taken and secured by the local police at around 1.00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time,” said Bernard, as quoted by Antara.

He said the Social Service, Supervision and Control Task Force at the Lenteng Agung post had received the report. Subsequently, his team went to the scene and contacted the police to secure the perpetrator.

“The Social Service, Supervision and Control Task Force of the South Jakarta Administrative City Social Agency at the Lenteng Agung post followed up on a report via social media (Instagram) about a person with a mental health disorder attacking road users,” said Bernard.
