Viral: Man Uses Wheel Lock Key to Damage Car After Road Incident on JORR Pondok Pinang Toll Road
An unidentified driver side-swiped and damaged the car of a driver named Peter (39) on the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) toll road in Pondok Pinang, heading towards Cilandak in South Jakarta, on Tuesday evening (26 May 2026).
Peter said he initially did not notice the vehicle behind him, but suddenly it pulled alongside from the right.
Peter suspected the driver intended to overtake him when entering the Pondok Pinang toll gate.
Peter was puzzled by the driver’s actions, as the incident not only harmed him but also the perpetrator, whose wing mirror broke during the side-swipe.
The driver, wearing a jacket over a green shirt, then stopped his car in front of Peter’s vehicle.
He got out of the car, shouting insults at Peter, then retrieved a wheel lock key from his vehicle and approached Peter’s car.
‘He was shouting, went back into his car to get the wheel lock key, then immediately started damaging my wing mirror and the bodywork,’ Peter said.
Peter raised his car windows after speaking with the man, but the perpetrator then struck Peter’s wing mirror three times before returning to his vehicle.
Peter said he got out to protest the man’s actions, but instead of apologising, the man challenged him.
‘He said, “If you want to fight, let’s do it now,”’ Peter recounted. ‘Then he got back in his car and drove off.’
Peter contacted the Polri hotline 110 for guidance on handling the case and was advised to file a police report.
Peter first went to Cilandak Police Station, but was told the incident fell under the jurisdiction of Kebayoran Lama Police Station.
When he went to Kebayoran Lama Police Station, he could not file a report as the criminal investigation unit was occupied, so he opted to upload the footage to social media.
