A video circulating on social media showed the Jabodebek LRT train suddenly stopping on the tracks in the Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta. The LRT carriage was seen halted in an area outside the station, which quickly drew public attention. Manager of Public Relations for Jabodebek LRT, Radhitya Mardika, confirmed the incident, stating that one train carriage experienced an operational disruption on Thursday afternoon, 26 March 2026. “KAI confirms that one Jabodebek LRT unit was temporarily halted on Thursday at 14:21 WIB,” Radhitya said. He explained that the LRT stopped due to the operational control system detecting a disruption or anomaly in the train carriage. This condition required staff to readjust the system before the journey could resume. “This was caused by the Jabodebek LRT operational control system on that unit detecting an anomaly or disruption, necessitating a system readjustment by the Train Attendant (TA) staff,” Radhitya stated. Radhitya added that the disruption lasted only about five minutes, after which the LRT resumed normal operations. He also emphasised that the incident did not impact other LRT journeys. “The matter lasted about five minutes, and it continued its journey. However, it did not affect other Jabodebek LRT journeys,” he concluded. The incident has garnered public attention, especially as workers begin returning to offices after the long Eid holiday. Such disruptions have come under scrutiny because the Jabodebek LRT is widely relied upon by the public as a mode of transport in the Jakarta and surrounding areas.
