Tangerang — Several residents complained about check-in queues lasting hours at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang City, Banten, on Sunday morning, 15 March 2026.

The complaints were widely discussed on social media platform Threads. One Threads user reported having to queue for nearly two hours just to check in at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“If you’re travelling from CGK, try to arrive 4–5 hours before departure if possible. The check-in queue is really bad. I queued for almost two hours just checking in with Garuda at T3,” the user wrote.

In an official statement on Sunday, 15 March 2026, airport management explained that 10 scheduled departures were operating at that time, with an estimated 1,555 passengers.

The increase in passenger movement is part of the rising traffic trend during this year’s Eid travel season. The airport projected total passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport to reach 3,010,993 passengers, representing approximately a 2.22 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Given the high volume of passengers, queues are likely to occur at several service points in the terminal, including at check-in counters.

However, the airport assured that operations continue to run safely and smoothly. Airport management stated it continues to coordinate with airlines, ground handling providers, and relevant authorities to optimise passenger flow in the terminal.

Passengers were also urged to verify their departure times and terminals to avoid confusion.

“Passengers are also advised to arrive early, at least 3 hours before their scheduled departure time, to anticipate potential congestion at the airport,” airport management said.

Passengers can obtain airport information through the InJourney Airports Call Centre at 172. Flight information can be accessed directly through individual airlines.
