Viral Japanese Foreigner Offered Child Prostitution in Lokasari, West Jakarta

Police have responded to a viral video circulating on social media that purportedly documented a Japanese foreign national claiming to have been offered child prostitution services in the Lokasari area of Tamansari, West Jakarta.

The video was uploaded to the X account @hunter_tnok. In the post, it was stated that the incident occurred in April 2026.

“In a video uploaded to YouTube by a Japanese man in April 2026, pimps in Lokasari can be seen repeatedly shouting the words ‘Seventeen’ and ‘Virgin’ to promote child prostitution. This is concrete evidence that child prostitution is rampant in Lokasari,” the post stated.

When contacted for comment, Metro Tamansari Police Chief Kompol Bobby M. Zulfikar confirmed that an investigation into the video had been conducted. Bobby stated that based on direct verification at the location, he was able to confirm that no child prostitution practices were found.

“Alhamdulilah (thank God), it has been confirmed that this is not substantiated,” Bobby said when contacted on Monday (25/5).

Furthermore, Bobby strongly emphasised that the claim about a Japanese foreign national being offered child prostitution services in Lokasari is incorrect.

“Indeed, the report is not true,” he said.
