Viral Indonesia New Media Forum Following Bakom RI Issue, What Is It?

The name Indonesia New Media Forum (INMF) has suddenly emerged following the buzz around the issue of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI.

Head of Bakom RI, Muhammad Qodari, revealed that his agency is now treating the homeless media members of the New Media Forum as partners.

“The New Media Forum is a collaboration of several new media actors. Previously, it was known by the term homeless media, but the friends are striving to transform into new media,” Qodari said during a press conference at the Bakom office in Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

Following Qodari’s statement, several homeless media outlets denied being embraced by Bakom as partners.
