Viral Incident of Male Passenger Entering Women-Only KRL Carriage, Staff Fail to Issue Warning
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A journey on the electric rail train (KRL) route from Nambo to Central Jakarta went viral on Monday (6/4/2027) due to a male passenger boarding the women-only carriage.
In a video uploaded to the Instagram account @jabodetabek24info, the KRL carriage is seen filled with female passengers. However, among them, two male individuals are visible inside the carriage.
One male passenger is seen sitting on a seat, while the other is standing while holding on. The video also shows a staff member present inside the carriage.
“Instead of taking action, the staff only asked the passenger’s destination without any further measures,” the upload caption continued.
KAI Commuter Public Relations officer Leza Arlan stated that they have conducted an evaluation of the carriage staff.
“We have carried out an evaluation and coaching for the said staff,” Leza said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Monday.
Nevertheless, Leza also urged all KRL users to follow the applicable rules on the Commuter Line.
He reminded that the frontmost and rearmost carriages are designated for women only.
