Viral Illegal Parking on Road Near MRT Lebak Bulus, Pramono to Crack Down

A video showing the road section near MRT Lebak Bulus in South Jakarta filled with two-wheeled vehicles parked, occupying half the road, has gone viral on social media. Viewed by detikcom on Instagram on Friday (10/4/2026), a resident complained that half the road has turned into an illegal parking area, disrupting traffic. Local residents have raised concerns about the situation, as it causes congestion especially during rush hour and endangers pedestrians who must walk on the roadway. In response, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung assured that the cleanup will be carried out soon. “We will tidy up the illegal parking. I will specifically ask the Mayor of South Jakarta to lead that cleanup,” said Pramono when met after inspecting the dredging of the West Flood Canal in Kebon Melati, Central Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026). Pramono stated that the DKI Provincial Government is currently undertaking a major overhaul of illegal parking spots in Jakarta. He cited similar cleanups that have been done in the area behind Grand Indonesia and around RSCM, which had been left unchecked for years until finally addressed. “Like behind Grand Indonesia, it hadn’t been tidied up for nearly 20 years, now we’ve done it. The same with RSCM. Including the one on Rasuna Said recently. So this one in the south will be the same, we will regulate it,” he added.
