A video showing cash notes inside free nutritious meal packages (MBG) distributed in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara went viral on social media. The footage revealed Rp 50,000 banknotes discovered inside the food containers distributed to beneficiaries.

The video was uploaded by a teacher named Baiq Dian Fitriani whilst reviewing the MBG menu. In the 2 minute 56 second recording, she opened the meal packages one by one and found Rp 50,000 cash inside.

“This is the special menu, there’s Ramadan cash, fifty thousand. Amazing, today’s menu is particularly special,” said Baiq Dian Fitriani in her Facebook post on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

Responding to this, Faisal Hidayatullah, head of the Nutritional Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) Rinjani Zein in Loyok Village, Sikur District, explained that the cash was deliberately given to all beneficiaries.

The money was inserted into the meal packages distributed to students and the B3 group (toddlers, pregnant women, and nursing mothers).

“The distribution of Rp 50,000 cash within the MBG menu during Ramadan is on the direction of partners, intended as Ramadan charity and alms,” said Faisal.

He noted that the number of programme beneficiaries reached 1,533 people. The breakdown comprises 986 students from kindergarten to senior secondary school level, whilst 544 people are from the B3 group.

“Our current beneficiaries total 1,533 people, consisting of students from kindergarten to senior secondary level numbering 986 people and B3 group numbering 544 people,” he explained.

Meanwhile, SPPG Rinjani Zein’s partner, Zainuddin, said the cash distribution was hoped to help beneficiaries’ needs during Ramadan.

“Needs during Ramadan, especially approaching Eid, are certainly many. So through this way I am trying to help. There is no ulterior motive in this cash distribution; I simply want to increase blessings during Ramadan,” said Zain.

He stressed that the assistance was purely a form of sharing with the community, particularly beneficiaries of the MBG kitchen managed by the Lombok Community Development Foundation. Additionally, Zain also stated that part of the income from the MBG kitchen he manages will be set aside to help orphans, Islamic teachers, and mosque caretakers.

“The income from this MBG kitchen will be set aside to help orphans, Islamic teachers and mosque caretakers. The income in question comes from renting our kitchen, because for family needs we can still obtain from our tobacco business,” he concluded.
