Viral Foreigner DJing at Summit of Mount Batur, Bali Tourism Office Investigates
A social media post shows a foreign national (WNA) happily DJing at the summit of Mount Batur, Bali. Officials from the Bali Tourism Office are currently tracing the incident. According to detikBali on Thursday (16/4/2026), the foreign national is suspected of filming a video clip. The action by the foreigner has drawn condemnation for failing to preserve the natural purity of the Mount Batur environment. Viewed on social media by detikBali, the post shows a foreigner playing DJ at the mountain summit. The location is believed to be the summit of Mount Batur, at an elevation of 1,717 metres above sea level. In the video, one cameraman is seen capturing footage of the foreign tourist’s actions. With turntable equipment and a white table, the foreign tourist performs as a DJ while being recorded from two angles. The Head of the Bangli Tourism Office, I Wayan Dirga Yusa, stated that his office is still verifying the authenticity of the viral video. As of now, the time of the incident and the identity of the foreigner in the video remain unknown. “Regarding the development of tourism functions and the viral video incident, we are still gathering the data. Regarding the legal standing of Mount Batur management, the authority lies with the BKSDA (Natural Resources Conservation Agency) Bali,” said Yusa.
