Viral: Food Distribution Center in Pamekasan Serves MBG Menu of Whole Young Coconuts and Raw Eggs
A video of a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) vehicle from the Bumdes Sejahtera kitchen in Rek Kerrek Village, Palengaan Subdistrict, Pamekasan Regency, East Java, on Saturday, February 14, went viral on social media.
In the 53-second video, the unit was distributing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) menu to students at one of the local schools. Instead of meals packaged in food containers, they were handing out one whole unpeeled young coconut, two raw eggs, two pieces of bread, and milk to each student.
The distribution of these raw MBG menu items covered two days’ worth combined into a single day. The distribution of the young coconut, raw eggs, bread, and milk took place on Thursday, February 12.
The viral free nutritious meal menu was confirmed by the Head of SPPG Bumdes Sejahtera in Rekkerrek Village. “Yes — a young coconut, two eggs, two pieces of bread, and milk as well,” said Hairul.
According to him, 2,030 students at several schools in the Palengaan Subdistrict area received the MBG menu consisting of young coconut, raw eggs, and bread.
“SPPG Bumdes Sejahtera distributes MBG for 3,000 students. However, the young coconut menu was only for 2,030 students. Meanwhile, the remaining 970 students were given an MBG menu of oranges, raw eggs, a piece of MSME-produced bread, and milk,” he added.
Hairul explained that the distribution of whole unpeeled young coconuts with two raw eggs covered two days’ worth of distribution combined into one on Thursday, since there would be no MBG distribution on Friday.
