Viral EO Budget of Rp 113.9 Trillion, BGN Reveals Needs and Scheme
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has responded to the list of budgets for event organisers (EOs) amounting to Rp 113.91 trillion circulating on social media. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana confirmed the existence of this budget, stating that the use of EO services is a strategic need for the institution. BGN is still in the early stages of establishment and is compiling its systems, organisational structure, and operational governance. This situation means BGN does not yet have the capacity to independently organise large-scale activities. “In this phase, BGN does not yet have fully ready internal resources to handle all the needs of large-scale activities independently,” he said in a written statement on Sunday (12/4/2026). The use of EOs is also considered to assist in organising administration and finance. Processes for procuring goods and services, vendor payments, and activity reporting can run more centrally and systematically. “These matters require experience and a solid team, which realistically BGN does not yet fully possess in the early phase of its formation,” he explained. Dadan assessed that using EOs is more efficient than forming an internal team in a short time, as recruitment and training processes require time. “Meanwhile, the need to implement programmes must proceed immediately. EOs serve as a bridging solution so that programmes can still be executed without sacrificing quality and time,” said Dadan. The role of EOs is evident in public campaigns, national socialisation efforts, and technical activities such as technical guidance (bimtek) for food handlers. “Therefore, the quality of organisation is crucial. EOs play a role in ensuring that the messages the government wishes to convey are packaged effectively, attractively, and with broad impact, so that programme objectives can be achieved optimally, along with the management of trained human resources in their fields,” he revealed.
