Viral Dusty Road in Senen Causes Accident, Here's Its Latest Condition

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The condition of a dusty and dirty road due to soil materials from a construction project in the Kramat area, Senen sub-district, Central Jakarta, went viral on social media on Monday (6/3/2026). Based on a video upload from the Instagram account @ijoeel, parts of the road surface were covered in soil and gravel. The road shoulder also appeared dusty, while two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles passed through the location. “People are having accidents due to the residential project in Senen that has left the road full of soil dirt and caused dust pollution,” stated the caption in the upload. Kompas.com then checked the condition of the project site and the road on Monday (6/3/2026). The location is at Jalan Kramat Raya Number 21, Senen sub-district, right next to Masjid Baitul Falah. Based on Kompas.com’s observation, the road condition at the site was already clean of soil and gravel. Three project workers were seen guarding the edge of the road and pavement to regulate the entry and exit of vehicles transporting construction materials. Nevertheless, a row of private cars was parked along the edge of Jalan Kramat Raya, not far from the project site. Dozens of these vehicles occupied the road shoulder. However, on Monday morning, Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Officers (PPSU) had carried out cleaning. “There was also a fire department vehicle that sprayed the road for cleaning. Earlier, the sub-district head and village head also came here,” said Zein. “As for parking on the roadside, it’s because the construction site itself isn’t available for parking yet,” he continued.
