A peculiar incident occurred in a KRL carriage at Sudimara Station when a duck was found perched on the roof, prompting officers to retrieve it. The event went viral on social media on Sunday (14/6/2026), with narratives claiming that the Green Line commuter journey was delayed by 10 minutes. Footage showed an officer using a pole to climb up and bring the duck down.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI), Leza Arlan, stated that no commuter line journeys were disrupted. All services that afternoon operated normally. “It is true that it happened at Sudimara Station. We can confirm there was no disruption to commuter line travel due to the duck on the roof,” Leza said when contacted.

Leza also confirmed that the Green Line service remained normal and that the duck’s presence on the carriage roof did not cause any delays. “According to our reports, it did not cause any hold-up that led to travel delays,” she explained.

Leza clarified that the duck belonged to a passenger. The animal has since been secured at the station’s security post. “From the report received, its owner was identified, but the duck has been secured at the station security post,” she said.

Leza emphasised that all passengers are strictly prohibited from bringing any animals or pets when using the KRL service. She noted that this is already stipulated in the existing regulations. “Indeed, pets are not allowed. That is the rule,” she asserted.
