Viral Deputy Regent of Dompu Walks Out During DPRD Meeting, Turns Out to Be Old Video
Social media on Facebook among the people of Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been abuzz with a viral video of Dompu’s Deputy Regent, Sirajuddin, leaving a meeting with the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD). The seven-second video has become a hot topic and highlighted the deputy regent’s attitude, which is seen as disrespectful to the DPRD institution by abandoning the official meeting. Based on detikBali’s investigation, the walkout incident occurred during a DPRD plenary session discussing the General Budget Policy and Temporary Budget Ceiling Priorities (KUA-PPAS) on 17 October 2025. It is not yet known who first uploaded the short video. However, the video continues to spread across various social media platforms. Dompu’s Deputy Regent, Sirajuddin, familiarly known as Dae Judin, confirmed the incident of leaving the official meeting with the DPRD. He stated that the event took place in October 2025 and was done with full awareness. According to him, he left the meeting because there was no speech script provided by the protocol of the Dompu Regional Secretariat (Setda). He considered the script important because the speech in the KUA-PPAS meeting could not be improvised, added to, or subtracted from. “Yes (there was no speech script), that’s what caused me to walk out from the plenary,” Sirajuddin explained when contacted by detikBali on Friday (27/3/2026). Sirajuddin views the virality of the video several months after the incident as an act of persecution against him by irresponsible parties. He suspects there is a motive to damage his image as a politician in Dompu Regency. “What is the motive behind this old video going viral? This is called persecution,” emphasised Dae Judin.
