Viral Convoy of Vehicles with Military Licence Plates Spotted Traversing TransJakarta Skyway

A video capturing a convoy of vehicles allegedly bearing Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) military licence plates traversing the “skyway” lane of the TransJakarta Ciledug-Tegal Mampang route has gone viral on social media.

In the video posted by Instagram account @lbj_jakarta, two black vehicles bearing what appeared to be military headquarters licence plates are seen travelling in the designated lane. Military police motorcycles, apparently escorting the vehicles, are also visible in the footage.

“Viral video catches official vehicles with military licence plates traversing the TransJakarta skyway corridor 13,” read the post caption.

In response to the incident, Jakarta Metro Police Spokesman Kombes Budi Hermanto stated that the Metro Traffic Department is investigating the matter.

“We are still investigating the incident regarding the purpose and vehicle data,” Budi told reporters on Friday (27 February).

Budi did not provide further details about the investigation, including whether police would coordinate with the military authorities.

“We are still looking into it and will provide an update later,” he said.
