Viral Confession of Alleged Sexual Assault at Martapura Hospital Prompts Police Investigation
Jakarta, VIVA – A video of a female patient’s confession, who is suspected of being a victim of sexual harassment while undergoing treatment at Martapura Regional Hospital (RSUD Martapura), East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra, has gone viral on social media.
In the roughly 55-second video, the victim recounts the alleged indecent acts she experienced while still undergoing treatment and in a physically weakened condition.
The recording shows the victim still lying in a hospital bed with breathing apparatus attached. In a faint voice, she says she experienced indecent acts allegedly committed by a man with the initials SL.
Victim Says She Was Powerless When the Alleged Harassment Occurred
In the circulating video, the victim said the alleged harassment occurred when she had no strength to resist because she was still recovering.
According to her account, the man allegedly groped her breast before carrying out other indecent acts.
“He groped my breast, then he unzipped his trousers and pulled my hand to touch his genitals,” the victim said in the video.
The victim said she could only resign herself to it as her health condition at the time was still very weak due to undergoing medical treatment.
Allegedly Occurred at Martapura Regional Hospital
Based on the information gathered, the alleged sexual harassment took place at RSUD Martapura, East OKU Regency, on Saturday, 11 July 2026, at around 15:30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
After allegedly committing the act, the perpetrator is said to have immediately left the room where the victim was being treated.
To date, there has been no further information regarding the relationship between the victim and the man named in the confession.
Police Confirm Report Has Been Received
The East OKU Resort Police (Polres) confirmed it has received a report from the victim’s family regarding the alleged sexual harassment.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at East OKU Police, First Inspector Rendi Ramadhona, said the report had been received and investigators are currently looking into the case.
“It is true, the victim’s family has reported the incident to East OKU Police. We are currently examining the statements from the victim’s family and conducting further investigation,” Rendi said when contacted on Tuesday, 14 July 2026.
