Viral Case of UNS Lecturer Harassing Woman in 2022: Here's the Update
A case of alleged sexual harassment by a lecturer at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in 2022 went viral on social media, with claims that it had not been addressed. Is this true?
According to detikJateng, the account initially recounted the incident in July 2022 when A was travelling by train from Surabaya to Jakarta. During the journey, A was initially seated next to a mother figure.
However, upon arrival in Solo, the person next to her alighted and was replaced by the UNS lecturer with initials S. A claimed that S pinched her arm. After the pinch, A reported that S also touched her thigh. Following the incident, A reported it to the Task Force (Satgas) at UNS Solo.
Meanwhile, Ismi Dwi Astuti from the UNS Task Force for Prevention and Handling of Violence (PPK) stated that the individual in question had received a sanction since February 2023. She mentioned there was a miscommunication with the complainant.
“The case has been fully handled, and the perpetrator has received a sanction based on the Rector’s Decree. The sanction given is an administrative one,” she said, as quoted by detikJateng on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
Ismi explained that the report was received by the Task Force on 13 December 2022. Subsequently, on 16 December, the complainant was examined, and on 22 February 2023, the sanction decree was issued.
“On 13 December 2022, the report was received by the UNS PPKS Task Force. 16 December 2022: examination of the complainant; 18 December 2022: examination of the alleged victim; 30 December 2022: examination of the respondent; 7 February 2023: Rector’s Decree on sanction for the perpetrator issued; 22 February 2023: handover of Rector’s Decree No. 02/RHS/UN27/KP/2023 to the perpetrator and relevant officials,” she emphasised.
