Viral: Brawijaya University Student Allegedly Stored Hundreds of Indecent Photos and Videos of Internship Colleagues
An alleged sexual harassment case involving a student from the Faculty of Agricultural Bio-Industry and Forestry (FBiPK) at Brawijaya University has gone viral on social media. The case came to light after a social media user shared a thread on X. According to information circulating online, a student with the initial G, from the 2023 cohort, is alleged to have stored photos and videos of shower recordings as well as video call sex (VCS) recordings. G is alleged to have recorded several internship participants from various universities in Indonesia, namely Lampung University (UNILA), Brawijaya University, and Padjadjaran University (Unpad).
Based on information posted on the Instagram account of the Student Press Institute of the Faculty of Agricultural Bio-Industry and Forestry at Brawijaya University, @persmacanopy, more than 900 photos, videos, video call recordings, and other documentation were found in a hidden folder on his mobile phone. G is also alleged to have made physical contact with victims. These acts are said to have caused trauma for a number of victims. On 12 August 2026, internship participants held an internal forum to discuss the allegations.
The institution where the internship took place is said to have imposed sanctions on G and taken steps regarding the continuation of the internship programme. Following the incident, the ULTKSP of the Faculty of Agricultural Bio-Industry and Forestry at Brawijaya University stated that it had only received information about the case on 23 August 2026 and would summon G.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship of FBiPK UB, Noer Rahmi Ardiarini, said the faculty had summoned the student concerned and gathered information from both parties. “We are currently coordinating with the unit that has authority in handling the case, namely the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (Satgas PPKPT) at Brawijaya University, so that fact-finding is carried out objectively and not based on assumptions or one-sided conclusions,” said Noer Rahmi.
Noer Rahmi stressed that FBiPK UB respects the ongoing examination process. The faculty does not wish to pre-empt the conclusions that will later be delivered by Satgas PPKPT UB. According to her, every report or allegation of sexual violence is a serious matter that must be processed carefully. In its handling, protection of the complainant and confidentiality of the identities of all parties remain a concern.
