Viral 'Anker' Stunt on Escalator Prompts Warning from KAI Commuter

KAI Commuter has spoken out after a video of train enthusiasts, or ‘Anker’, running against the direction of an escalator at a KRL Commuter station went viral on social media. The operator is urging the individuals not to repeat the dangerous stunt. The video, which circulated widely on Thursday (11/6), shows several people sprinting up an escalator that is moving downwards. The action was not isolated, with multiple other individuals following suit at the location. In the opposite lane of the same escalator, other people travelling downwards were forced to move to one side to allow the ‘Anker’ to run against the flow. KAI Commuter responded to the circulating video via the comment section. ‘We ask that everyone use the escalator according to its direction and intended purpose for mutual safety and comfort,’ KAI Commuter wrote. KAI reminded users that such behaviour can be dangerous, and asked the community to obey the existing regulations. ‘Using the escalator against the flow risks endangering yourself and other users. Let us use station facilities properly together so that journeys remain safe and comfortable.’
