A post regarding an ambulance that had just delivered a patient to RSUD Kudus Hospital being charged a parking fee of up to Rp 80,000 has gone viral. The hospital management has provided clarification. According to detikjateng on Thursday (26/3/2026), the post featured a complaint from the driver of a village service ambulance who had transported a patient to RSUD Kudus. At the time, the driver was charged a rather substantial fee of Rp 80,000. “Colo Village Service Ambulance was charged Rp 80,000 this morning. Awaiting clarification from the ambulance driver or the hospital parking staff,” the ambulance driver wrote in the viral post on Thursday (26/3/2026). In response, Abdul Mufid, Head of Public Relations at RSUD Kudus, provided clarification. Mufid explained that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between the parking manager and the ambulance driver. “The incident began when the ambulance driver was about to leave the RSUD Kudus parking area and handed over a parking ticket that had been kept for 3 to 4 days,” Mufid explained. “After the scanning process by the parking staff, the system automatically displayed a nominal amount of Rp 80,000, which is an estimate of the accumulated parking fees over several days,” he added. Nevertheless, the ambulance driver did not actually need to pay, but a misunderstanding had already occurred between the driver and the parking manager. “In accordance with the applicable provisions, ambulance vehicles, public service vehicles, and village social vehicles are exempt from parking fees (free). Therefore, the ambulance driver did not make payment for the amount that appeared,” Mufid clarified.
