Viral: Alleged Healthcare Workers' Unsympathetic Comments on Patient's Post

A post on the social media platform Threads by Yurizal Tri Chaerawan (@yurizaltrich) has suddenly drawn the attention of social media users. On 22 July 2026, he wrote about his experience of waiting eight hours for treatment without being given a room.

“8 hours and still no room, not naming the hospital because I’m using BPJS,” Yurizal wrote, as quoted from his Threads account on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.

The post, however, was met with cynical and unempathetic responses from various accounts. After further digging by social media users, some of these unempathetic replies were suspected to come from accounts belonging to doctors and healthcare workers.

Several of these account holders even made statements lacking in empathy towards the original poster. One of them was the social media user @bennychrstn. Based on tracing by netizens, the account is said to belong to an alumnus of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Indonesia.

“If it’s full, where do you want to be moved? On the floor? It has nothing to do with BPJS or not — if many people use it, many will be treated too, not just you. If you want to move quickly, the morgue is always empty. Annoying when healthcare workers/hospitals and even the government through BPJS try to help, and this is how the public responds,” the account wrote.

In addition, the account @erudarahaadini joined in with a sarcastic tone.

“The caption is like someone who ‘has’, but in reality ‘hasn’t’, hasn’t they? Haven’t some brain cells,” the account commented.

According to netizens’ findings, the owner of this account, whose real name is Elda Putri Rahardini, is an alumna of Universitas Gadjah Mada and a recipient of an LPDP scholarship.

There was also the account @nouzzha_kim, which left a cynical comment on Yurizal’s post.

“Yuriz, poor in wealth, poor in knowledge, poor in sense, but wants to be treated specially. 8 hours is very, very reasonable, especially since you said it’s a national referral hospital. Maybe the likes of RSHS in Bandung or RSCM in Jakarta, right? Can I say something? YOU’RE AN IDIOT, ALL TALK,” the account commented.

The Patient Has Passed Away

According to a statement from one of Yurizal’s closest relatives, it was confirmed that he has passed away. His cousin, Hilda Aprianti Perdana, said that Yurizal died on 31 July 2026.
