Viral Allegations of Bribery After Student Meeting with Gibran, UBK Student Body Speaks Out
Representatives of students from Bung Karno University (UBK) have allegedly received bribes following a meeting with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, which has since gone viral on social media.
The issue began with a video featuring several students confessing to receiving money after meeting Gibran at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, 15 June 2026.
In one of the viral recordings, a student claimed to have received Rp2 million. He also stated that the Vice Chairman of the UBK Law Faculty Student Union (BEM FH), Rafly Maulana Akbar, also received money, though he claimed not to know the exact amount.
“I received Rp2 million. To my knowledge, the Vice Chairman of BEM FH received money as well. As for the amount, I am not sure,” he said.
Another video shows a student claiming to have obtained Rp2.5 million. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the UBK Law Faculty Student Union, Muhamad Abdi Maludin, appeared to offer an apology before hundreds of students.
“I admit I am wrong and I apologise to all of you,” he stated.
As of now, there is no certainty regarding which party allegedly provided the money to the students.
Responding to the issue, the UBK Law Faculty Student Union issued ten demands directed at the parties allegedly involved. The statement was released via the official Instagram account @bemfhubk on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.
The post outlined ten specific demands presented by the students to be met:
Issue a formal statement in video format asserting that the parties involved are prepared to take responsibility for the academic and social consequences imposed by both UBK and the student body.
Disclose the names of the parties allegedly involved in the bribery so that they can be strictly sanctioned by the university and the foundation through a petition mechanism, specifically: Muhamad Abdi Maludin (Chairman of BEM FH), Rafly Maulana Akbar (Vice Chairman of BEM FH), Mubarak Tuasamu (BEM FH Official), Pujiono (Chairman of BEM FEB), and Muhammad Rafi Bastian (Vice Chairman of BEM FEB).
Agree to resign from all internal campus positions, including leadership roles within the Student Executive Board (BEM).
Produce a video statement admitting to having accepted bribes.
Annul the ‘Ajaran Bung Karno’ (ABK) grades 1-4 and assign a failing grade of E.
