JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – VinFast, the Vietnamese electric-vehicle manufacturer, is preparing its distribution network for its electric scooter products in Indonesia as part of a planned launch in Q2 2026. As a first step, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with six groups of electric motorcycle dealers to build a sales network across regions.

VinFast Indonesia’s DCEO for E-Scooter Sales & Distribution Network Expansion, Yordan Satriadi, said the collaboration covers the opening of around 30 stores at the initial stage. He added that the number of outlets could grow as the two-wheeler EV market develops in Indonesia. “But going forward we will look at opportunities in Indonesia. So the network development will continue,” he said.

Yordan confirmed all planned stores are targeted to commence operations this year as part of preparations before the official product launch. “The sales target for the electric motorcycle is in Q2 2026,” he said.

The six dealers that have signed the agreement are PT IB Motor, PT Sentrik, PT Axara Marani, PT Sukses Sejati Indonesia, PT Tangguh Inti Motor, and PT Kiki Motor Persada.

In the initial phase, the network will market several VinFast e-scooter models, namely VinFast Flazz, VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II, and VinFast Viper. The electric motorcycles use battery-swapping technology, enabling users to swap batteries at swap stations without waiting for charging.

VinFast is also preparing a supporting ecosystem, including a network of battery-swapping stations developed in collaboration with global energy infrastructure company, V-Green. At present, the swap network is undergoing trials in the Jabodetabek area. When the electric motorcycles are officially launched, consumers are expected to be able to access the service.

“We are not only delivering high-quality products, but also building a holistic ecosystem, from sales, after-sales service to charging and battery-swapping infrastructure. This forms the foundation for sustainable growth with our local partners,” he added.
