VinFast Opens Online Reservations for Electric Scooters

In Jakarta, the Vietnamese electric-vehicle maker VinFast announced that it has begun taking reservations for its electric two-wheelers in Indonesia today, Wednesday 20 May 2026, during the launch of the locally assembled completely knocked down (CKD) VF MPV. ‘My e-scooter is already ready. If you look at the supporting infrastructure, such as the battery swap network, it is already deployed; product homologation is underway or even complete,’ he said in Jakarta. The first phase offers the VinFast Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, as promised by the company earlier. ‘As for the physical bikes themselves, we estimate deliveries will begin in July 2026,’ Kariyanto added. Earlier, during a media visit to Vietnam, VinFast e-Scooter Indonesia Market CEO Yordan Satriadi explained that VinFast’s strategy for Indonesia would prioritise readiness of the supporting ecosystem to give consumers peace of mind. ‘We will demonstrate the ecosystem VinFast possesses. People have already seen battery swap stations everywhere, managed by V-Green, that is the first point,’ he said in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Thursday 23 April 2026. In addition to relying on the battery-swapping system, VinFast also committed to building a strong after-sales network before the product’s official market entry. ‘In which cities? Major cities especially on Java Island such as Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali. That is our first priority for the initial opening phase,’ he added.
