VinFast launches three electric motorcycle models starting from Rp17.5 million

Vietnamese automotive brand VinFast has begun penetrating the electric motorcycle market in Indonesia by launching three new models: the VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II, and VinFast Viper. “Designed for various consumer needs and lifestyles by combining modern technology, strong performance, safety, as well as features and the capability of the VinFast battery swapping system,” said Managing Director of VinFast E-Motorcycle Overseas Market Vo Thi Cam Tu in Jakarta on Saturday. The VinFast Viper arrives with a sporty design suited for young riders. Meanwhile, the VinFast Feliz II and VinFast Evo build upon the strengths of their predecessor models in Vietnam with various refinements to adapt to the needs and preferences of Indonesian consumers. All three models use a 5,200-watt BLDC in-wheel electric motor for the dual-battery configuration variant and 3,000 watts for the single-battery configuration. The VinFast Viper and VinFast Feliz II have a maximum speed of up to 90 kilometres per hour, while the VinFast Evo can reach up to 80 kilometres per hour. Each vehicle is equipped with two battery compartments under the seat that accommodate the simultaneous use of two 1.5 kWh lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) batteries. When fully charged, the VinFast Evo is claimed to be capable of travelling up to 150 kilometres, while the VinFast Viper and VinFast Feliz II can travel up to 145 kilometres. VinFast offers two battery ownership schemes: purchasing the battery outright or through a subscription service. In addition to utilising the battery swapping service, users can also charge the vehicle independently at home. VinFast offers the Evo at an on-the-road price in Jakarta of Rp17.5 million, the Feliz II at Rp18.5 million, and the Viper at Rp22 million using the battery subscription scheme. As part of the launch programme, VinFast electric motorcycle consumers will receive free battery swapping services at V-GREEN public battery swapping stations for one year, with a maximum of 20 battery swaps per vehicle per month. Furthermore, all models are supported by a warranty of up to 4+2 years or 60,000+12,000 kilometres, whichever is achieved first.
