VinFast Begins Local Production of VF MPV 7, Adds New Features for Indonesian Consumers
VinFast has officially begun local production of the seven-seat electric vehicle VF MPV 7 at its assembly facility in Subang, West Java. In tandem, VinFast has introduced a series of feature refinements to better cater to Indonesian consumers.
VinFast Indonesia’s Chief Executive Officer Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto said the VF MPV 7 now presents a more modern look with updates focused on family comfort and practicality.
‘The VF MPV 7 produced in Subang officially arrives with a more modern design and various refinements designed to be even more relevant to the needs of Indonesian families,’ Kariyanto said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Some new features now available include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a retractable mirror or automatic folding mirrors, and a 360-degree camera to assist manoeuvres.
In addition, VinFast has added a rear ducktail, additional roof bars, and a brown interior colour option claimed to convey a more elegant impression.
Head of Training Department VinFast Indonesia Rinaldi Ginanjar Ramdani explained that the biggest change lies on the feature side, while the basic specifications of the vehicle largely remain unchanged.
‘The features will certainly make it easier for Indonesian consumers. In terms of specifications, overall it is still around 80-90 percent the same,’ he said.
The VF MPV 7 is now also equipped with a one-touch tumble feature on both sides of the second-row seats. Previously this feature was only available on one side. This technology allows the seats to fold automatically with a single pull of a lever to facilitate access to the third row or to widen the boot space. The new features installed, Renaldi said, stem from feedback from prospective Indonesian customers gathered at the initial introduction at IIMS 2026 earlier.
