Jakarta (ANTARA) - VinFast Indonesia says it is still awaiting the results of investigations by authorities into a train accident involving the Green SM taxi in Bekasi, West Java, on 27 April 2026, which left several people dead and dozens injured. ‘In principle, we sympathise and deeply mourn the incident. The process is currently in the investigatory stage by authorities, KNKT, the police, and several related agencies,’ said Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, Chief Executive Officer of VinFast Indonesia, in Jakarta, on Wednesday. He said the company fully supports the investigative process being conducted by the National Transport Safety Committee (KNKT), the police, and other related agencies. In this regard, he said, VinFast is endeavouring to cooperate by providing the data required by the authorities. ‘Green SM is a sister company or taxi operator, and a customer of ours as well. But as the brand holder, the owner of the product, we will of course collaborate; we support all investigations by providing all the data we hold,’ he said. ‘What will the final outcome be? Then, of course, the statement will be issued by the relevant party, in this case KNKT,’ he added. ‘Green SM Indonesia is a separate taxi company, with its own chief executive and its own company. So for us, Green SM is a customer that bought vehicles from us. So it is a separate entity,’ Kariyanto said. He added that VinFast’s main focus at present remains on improving the customer experience through sales and after-sales services, including implementing programmes to boost the uptake of VinFast electric vehicles in Indonesia.
