VinFast Affirms Long-Term Commitment to Indonesia, Targets Office Workers and Ride-Hailing Drivers
VinFast has invested in a factory in Subang since last year. Additionally, their business group has introduced V-Green battery company and taxi services.
CEO of VinFast Escooter Indonesia Market, Yordan Satriadi, stated that VinFast’s presence in Indonesia is not merely about selling electric scooters. “VinFast is entering with an ecosystem. We’re talking about Vingroup,” he said during an interview in Vietnam.
He explained that VinFast has invested in a Subang factory since last year, and their business group has also introduced V-Green battery company and taxi services. “As you can see, last year we invested in a Subang factory. We also have V-Green battery company, taxi services, and now VinFast Escooter. This demonstrates our commitment to the Indonesian market,” he said.
Competitive Pricing Without Compromising Quality
On the product side, VinFast ensures competitive pricing without compromising quality. In Indonesia, VinFast offers three variants: Evo, Feliz II, and Viper. The VinFast Evo starts at Rp18.98 million with a battery subscription scheme. The Feliz II is priced from Rp20.1 million, and the Viper from Rp24.41 million.
“We will not offer shoddy products. We will provide affordable prices,” Yordan said.
According to him, the company has conducted surveys on appropriate price ranges for both gasoline and electric motorcycle consumers in Indonesia. “We’ve surveyed and studied at what price they’re willing to buy, along with the terms and conditions,” he explained.
Targeting Three Main Segments
For the target market, VinFast is targeting three main segments of two-wheeler users in Indonesia. The first segment is office workers who use motorcycles daily for commuting. “The first segment is office workers. They are regular users commuting to and from work every day,” Yordan said.
Additionally, VinFast is targeting school and university students with daily short-distance usage needs. The other target is ride-hailing drivers and delivery couriers who require daily operational vehicles with cost-efficient usage.
